QUAN Heng (权衡), Secretary of SASS CPC Committee
Prof. QUAN Heng served successively as Director of Office of Research and Development at SASS, Deputy Director of Institute of Economics at SASS, Deputy Director and then Director of Institute of World Economy at SASS, Vice President of SASS, and Executive Vice President of Shanghai Federation of Social Science Associations.
He was a visiting scholar of Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, Department of Economics at Jawaharlal Nehru University, Taiwan University, etc. He is concurrently a Distinguished Advisor for Decision-making Consultation of Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, Vice President of Shanghai Economist Association, etc.
His main research interests are political economics with Chinese characteristics, world economy and development economics, China’s economic development and income distribution, etc.
WANG Dezhong (王德忠), President
Prof. WANG Dezhong is the President of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (SASS). He graduated with a Master of Science degree from Nanjing University and then with a Doctor of Science degree from East China Normal University.
Before joining in SASS, he successively served as Director of Policy Research Office for Research Office of Shanghai Municipal Government, Deputy Director-General of Research Office of Shanghai Municipal Government, Deputy Director-General of Research Office for Shanghai CPC Committee, Director-General and Party Secretary of Research Office of Shanghai Municipal Government, Director-General and Party Secretary of the Development Research Center of Shanghai Municipal Government.
YAO Jianlong (姚建龙), Deputy Secretary of SASS CPC Committee
Prof. YAO Jianlong is the Deputy Secretary of the CPC SASS Committee, Director and Secretary of General Party Branch of SASS Institute of Law. He has served as the Consulting Expert, Hearing Officer and Supervisor of National Working Committee on Children and Women under the State Council, the Supreme People’s Court, the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League among other ministries and commissions, as well as the Expert in Consultation and Demonstration of Major Administrative Decisions in Shanghai, Legislation Expert of Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, etc. He used to serve as Professor of East China University of Political Science and Law, Editor-in-chief of Issues on Juvenile Crimes and Delinquency, Head and Dean of School of Criminal Justice of Shanghai University of Political Science and Law, Deputy Secretary-General of the 26th All-China Students’ Federation, Member of the 12th All-China Youth Federation, Standing Committee Member of the CPC Committee and Vice President of Shanghai University of Political Science and Law.
GAN Chunhui (干春晖), Vice President
Prof. GAN Chunhui is Vice President of SASS and Director of Institute of Applied Economy, SASS. He is concurrently Vice President of China Society of Industrial Economics and Vice President of Shanghai Economist Association. He used to serve as Dean of Department of Industrial Economics, Deputy Dean of School of International Business Administration and Director of Academic Research Department, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics; and then Vice President of Shanghai Customs College. His main research areas include industrial structure, industrial policy, economic transformation and industrial upgrading.
WU Xueming (吴雪明), Vice President
WU Xueming, Vice President of SASS, graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Finance. He obtained a Master’s Degree and Doctoral Degree in Economics from SASS, majoring in World Economy. He served as Secretary of the SASS Youth League Committee, Deputy Director of SASS General Administrative Office, Deputy Secretary of General Party Branch of SASS Institute of World Economy and Politics, Secretary of General Party Branch of SASS Institute of International Relations, Assistant Director of SASS Institute of World Economy, Director of SASS Office of International Cooperation, Deputy Director of SASS Institute of China Studies, and Director of Publicity Department CPC SASS Committee. In 2014, he was awarded “Shanghai Youth May Fourth Medal” and in 2015 the title of “Excellent CPC Member of Shanghai Publicity”.
