QUAN Heng (权衡), Secretary of SASS CPC Committee
QUAN Heng is a research professor and doctoral supervisor. He served successively as Director of Office of Research and Development at SASS, Deputy Director of Institute of Economics at SASS, Deputy Director and then Director of Institute of World Economy at SASS, Vice President of SASS, and Executive Vice President of Shanghai Federation of Social Science Associations.
He was a visiting scholar of Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, Department of Economics at Jawaharlal Nehru University, National Taiwan University, etc. He is concurrently a Distinguished Advisor for Decision-making Consultation of Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, Vice President of Shanghai Economist Association, etc.
His main research interests are political economics with Chinese characteristics, world economy and development economics, China’s economic development and income distribution, etc.
WANG Dezhong (王德忠), President
Prof. WANG Dezhong is the President of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (SASS). He graduated with a Master of Science degree from Nanjing University and then with a Doctor of Science degree from East China Normal University.
Before joining in SASS, he successively served as Director of Policy Research Office for Research Office of Shanghai Municipal Government, Deputy Director-General of Research Office of Shanghai Municipal Government, Deputy Director-General of Research Office for Shanghai CPC Committee, Director-General and Party Secretary of Research Office of Shanghai Municipal Government, Director-General and Party Secretary of the Development Research Center of Shanghai Municipal Government.
ZHU Guohong (朱国宏), Vice President
ZHU Guohong is a Professor, Doctoral Supervisor and Vice President of SASS. He obtained PHD degree in Economics from Fudan University. Before assuming his current post at SASS, he successively served as Vice Dean of Graduate School and Director of Publicity Department of the CPC Fudan University Committee, Member of the Standing Committee and Head of Publicity Department of the CPC Changning District Committee of Shanghai, President of Shanghai Business School, President and Deputy Party Secretary of Shanghai University of International Business and Economics. His main research interests are human capital, population, resource, environment and sustainable development, social capital and employment, economic development and social change, foreign migrants in China, human-land relations in China, etc.
WANG Zhen (王振), Vice President
WANG Zhen is a research professor, doctoral supervisor and Vice President of SASS. He got his PHD degree in Agricultural Economy from Kyoto University in 1998. He is concurrently Director of Institute of Information Sciences, Executive Deputy Director of Yangtze River Delta and Economic Belt Research Center and Director of “Belt and Road Initiative” Information Research Center. As a distinguished scholar focusing on industrial economics, SMEs and rural development, Prof. WANG has published extensively in these fields. His major works include Coordinated Strategy of Innovation-driven Development of Yangtze River Economic Belt, Shanghai 2050 Development Vision, New Industrial Revolution and Shanghai’s Transformation Development, “Belt and Road Initiative” and its Implications, etc.
GAN Chunhui (干春晖), Vice President
GAN Chunhui is a research professor, Vice President of SASS and Director of Institute of Applied Economy, SASS. He is concurrently Vice President of China Society of Industrial Economics and Vice President of Shanghai Economist Association. He used to serve as Dean of Department of Industrial Economics, Deputy Dean of School of International Business Administration and Director of Academic Research Department, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics; and then Vice President of Shanghai Customs College. His main research areas include industrial structure, industrial policy, economic transformation and industrial upgrading.
