QUAN Heng (权衡), Secretary of SASS CPC Committee
Professor QUAN Heng is Secretary of the CPC Committee of SASS. Prior to this position, he served as Director of Office of Research and Development, Deputy Director of Institute of Economics, Director of Institute of World Economy, Vice President of SASS, and Executive Vice President of the Shanghai Federation of Social Science Associations. He has been a visiting scholar of Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, the Department of Economics at Jawaharlal Nehru University, and Taiwan University. He currently serves as a Distinguished Advisor for Decision-making Consultation to the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government and Vice President of the Shanghai Economist Association. His research focuses on political economy with Chinese characteristics, the world economy and development economics, and China’s economic development and income distribution.
As Party Secretary, he leads the overall work of the Party Committee, with responsibilities for Party building, cadre and human resources, and international cooperation.
GAN Chunhui (干春晖), Executive Vice President
Professor GAN Chunhui is the Executive Vice President of SASS. He also serves as Vice President of the China Society of Industrial Economics and the Shanghai Economist Association. Previously, he held positions as Dean of the Department of Industrial Economics, Deputy Dean of the School of International Business Administration, and Director of the Academic Research Department at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics; Vice President of Shanghai Customs College; and Director of Institute of Applied Economy at SASS. His main research areas include industrial structure, industrial policy, economic transformation and industrial upgrading.
As Executive Vice President, he is in charge of the organizational and administrative operations, including research, think tank development and graduate education.
YAO Jianlong (姚建龙), Deputy Secretary of SASS CPC Committee
Professor YAO Jianlong is the Deputy Secretary of the CPC SASS Committee, Director and Secretary of General Party Branch of SASS Institute of Law. He has served as a Consulting Expert, Hearing Officer and Supervisor for various ministries and commissions, including the National Working Committee on Children and Women under the State Council, the Supreme People’s Court, the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League. He is also an Expert in Consultation and Demonstration of Major Administrative Decisions in Shanghai and a Legislation Expert for the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government. Previously, he served as a Professor at East China University of Political Science and Law, Editor-in-chief of Issues on Juvenile Crimes and Delinquency, and Vice President of Shanghai University of Political Science and Law.
As Deputy Party Secretary, he is responsible for publicity, discipline inspection, auditing, retired personnel affairs, and oversees the work of the Institute of Law.
WU Xueming (吴雪明), Vice President
WU Xueming, Vice President of SASS, graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Finance. He obtained a Master’s Degree and Doctoral Degree in Economics from SASS, majoring in World Economy. He served as Secretary of the SASS Youth League Committee, Deputy Director of SASS General Administrative Office, Deputy Secretary of General Party Branch of SASS Institute of World Economy and Politics, Secretary of General Party Branch of SASS Institute of International Relations, Assistant Director of SASS Institute of World Economy, Director of SASS Office of International Cooperation, Deputy Director of SASS Institute of China Studies, and Director of Publicity Department CPC SASS Committee.
As Vice President, he oversees digital operations, leads library services, and supervises publishing and journal management.
LIU Yun (刘芸), Vice President
LIU Yun, Vice President of SASS, graduated from Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance and holds a Master’s Degree from the Glorious Sun School of Business and Management at Donghua University. She has held various leadership positions at both district and municipal levels, including Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office and Director of the Audit Bureau in Jing’an District, as well as Director of the Audit and the Development and Reform Divisions at the Publicity Department of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee.
As Vice President, she is responsible for logistics, workplace safety, and the management of state-owned assets.
