On 19 November 2025, Ms. Marina Go, Chair of the Advisory Board of the National Foundation for Australia-China, led a delegation on a visit to SASS. Professor Yao Jianlong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC SASS Committee, met the visiting delegation, and the two sides held discussions on topics including “Chinese Family Values and Intergenerational Support Patterns”.

Professor Yao extended a warm welcome to Ms. Go and her delegation and briefed them on the historical development of SASS, as well as its recent progress in policy consultation, academic research, and talent cultivation. He noted that China and Australia, as major countries in the Asia-Pacific region, share broad common interests, and that exchanges and cooperation across various domains are of great significance to bilateral relations and regional development. He emphasized that SASS attaches great importance to this visit and is willing to maintain regular exchanges with the Foundation on issues of mutual interest, including social, cultural, educational, and media affairs.
Ms. Go thanked Professor Yao for the warm reception. She introduced the Foundation’s wide-ranging activities involving Australian enterprises, think tanks, and grassroots organizations and noted that this was the first visit to China by the Foundation’s Advisory Board since its establishment five years ago. She expressed the Foundation’s hope to further expand cooperation with China and its interest in strengthening academic collaboration with SASS to deepen understanding of contemporary Chinese culture.
During the meeting, the two sides held in-depth exchanges on Chinese family values, elderly care and childcare models, gender equality, and media development.
