On 25 September 2025, Professor Ian Rivers, Associate Principal and Executive Dean of the Faculty and Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Strathclyde, visited SASS. Professor Yao Jianlong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC SASS Committee and Director of SASS Institute of Law, met with the delegation, and the two sides held substantive discussions on joint postgraduate training, academic exchange visits, and collaborative research.
Professor Yao extended a warm welcome to Professor Rivers and his team, and briefed them on recent developments in SASS’s international cooperation, research, and postgraduate programmes. He expressed hopes for further strengthening collaboration with the University of Strathclyde, including exploring innovative models for joint training and expanding opportunities for student exchanges. He also reiterated SASS’s welcome for reciprocal scholar visits, co-hosted conferences, and other cooperative initiatives to deepen bilateral ties.
Professor Rivers introduced the University of Strathclyde’s academic strengths and reviewed the solid foundation of cooperation between the two institutions. He reaffirmed the university’s willingness to deepen collaboration with SASS in postgraduate education, advance joint think tank research, and leverage complementary strengths.
