On July 11 2025, China-Africa CooperationLegal Forum (2025) was held in Changsha under the theme “Deepen Legal Cooperation In Economy And Trade, Join Hands To Build A High-level China-Africa Community With A Shared Future.


Professor Yao Jianlong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC SASS Committee and Director of SASS Institute of Law, was invited to deliver a keynote address at Seminar One, “China-Africa Economic and Trade Legal Talent Development and Think Tank Synergy.” His address, entitled “Strengthening China-Africa Economic and Trade Legal Talent Development: Leveraging Think Tank Synergy to Advance the China-Africa Community of Shared Future,” the strategic significance of Sino–African economic and trade legal cooperation, the challenges in cultivating legal professionals with African expertise, and the constructive role of think tank collaboration in supporting cooperative development.


Professor Yao emphasized that deepening Sino–African economic and trade legal cooperation serves as both a “ballast” for building the China–Africa Community of Shared Future and a “barometer” of solidarity and cooperation among the Global South. He underscored the importance of strengthening legal talent development and think tank collaboration to address shortcomings, reinforce weaknesses, and lay a solid foundation for future progress. He also expressed the hope of working with more China–Africa partners to elevate legal talent training and think tank exchanges to new heights.


The forum represents an important step in advancing China–Africa cooperation under the framework of the rule of law and carries profound significance for jointly building an all-weather China–Africa community with a shared future in the new era.
