FES Delegation of Climate Experts Visited SASS

On March 28, Benjamin Reichenbach, Chief Representative of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Shanghai Office, led a delegation of climate experts to visit SASS and participate in a seminar on climate policy issues hosted by the SASS Institute of Ecology and Sustainable Development. The seminar was attended by eight officials and experts in the field of climate change from countries including Brazil, Malaysia, India, Belgium, and Germany.

 

Professor Quan HengSecretary of SASS CPC Committee, met with the visiting delegation and held discussions on topics such as institutional cooperation and global climate governance. He emphasized that climate change and its governance are global challenges requiring collective action. Given the current complex international landscape, he underscored the urgency and importance of deepening exchanges and cooperation between governments and think tanks in the field of climate policy.

 

Mr. Reichenbach commended the longstanding friendship and fruitful cooperation between the two sides. He expressed hope for closer collaboration with experts from SASS to provide forward-looking insights and policy input in preparation for the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30), to be held in Brazil next year.
