September 21st—the Institute of Philosophy at SASS, Shanghai Mental Health Center, and Tianqiao and Chrissy Chen Institute jointly hosted the symposium on “Brain-Computer Interface and Philosophy: Interdisciplinary Dialogue”. More than 50 scholars from diverse fields, including philosophy and ethics, scientific and technological research and development, clinical medicine, industrial planning, and law, gathered to discuss the ethical governance, cognitive mechanisms, and ethical challenges of brain-computer interface technology.
Focusing on pressing issues surrounding brain-computer interfaces, the symposium served as a platform to advance new theoretical perspectives and foster the integration of interdisciplinary research findings.
