On May 29th, the 2024 China-Korea Industry Forum, jointly organized by Institute of Applied Economics, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences and the Korea Institute for Industrial Economics & Trade, was held at SASS. The forum, themed New Quality Productive Forces and Industrial Innovation, aimed to explore the role of technological innovation and industrial upgrading in driving economic growth, providing new insights and cooperative opportunities for industrial development between China and Korea. Gan Chunhui, Vice President of SASS, and Kim In-Je, Vice President of the Korea Institute for Industrial Economics & Trade, delivered speeches on behalf of the organizers.
Throughout the day-long conference, scholars from both countries focused on the shared concerns of new productivity and industrial innovation, engaging in extensive discussions and exchanges.
The forum achieved significant outcomes, with scholars from both sides delving deeply into topics such as fintech, the openness and stability of industrial and supply chains, R&D support in key industrial sectors, sustainable innovation in manufacturing, the development trends and new cooperative opportunities in key industries such as new energy vehicles, consumer electronics, and integrated circuits. Scholars agreed that China-Korea industrial and trade cooperation has a solid foundation, suggesting future efforts to expand cooperation and seize more development opportunities together.
