On the morning of June 25, 2022, with the theme of Digital Technology Improves Economic Efficiency, the second Shanghai Economic Forum and the July 1st Online Symposium were hosted by the Institute of Applied Economy and organized by the editorial department of Shanghai Economy. President Wang Dezhong delivered a speech at the meeting. Professor Jiang Xiaojuan, Member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Vice Chairperson of the Social Construction Committee of the National People's Congress, and President of Chinese Public Administration Society, delivered a keynote speech at the Forum. The Forum was presided over by Gan Chunhui, Vice President of SASS, and Director of the Institute of Applied Economy.
In addition to all staff of the Institute of Applied Economy, nearly 200 researchers from the Institute of Economy, the Institute of World Economy, the Institute of Information Sciences, the Institute of Urban and Demographic Studies, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University also participated in the Forum online.
This is the second online Shanghai Economic Forum, which was founded in 1990 and is a standing forum set up by the Institute of National Economy, the predecessor of the Institute of Applied Economy. Focusing on Shanghai's reform and opening up, major economic policies and national economic development strategies, the Forum has increasingly played a unique role and has become more indispensable by building a communication platform for academic communities, industries and governments.
