On September 17, the Forum on International City Governance - Fostering Smart and Human-centered Cities: Experience from China and Italy was hosted by SASS, with full support from elite Italian school Politcnico di Torino. Scholars from China and Italy probed into the forum topic from multiple angles such as “smart cities and its risk management” and “humanistic care in urban spaces” through on-site conferences and video discussions.
Wang Dezhong, President of SASS, and Prof. Guio Saracco, President of Politcnico di Torino, delivered speeches at the opening and closing ceremonies. Michele Geraci, Former Undersecretary of State at the Italian Ministry of Economic Development, Professor of University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC), and Guo Changgang, Director of the Institute of History, SASS, delivered keynote speeches themed on “smart cities and risk management” and “humanistic care in urban spaces”. The forum was co-organized by Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences Think Tank Foundation.
