On July 6, 2021, Seminar on Building an Eco-city Desired by the People & New Book Launch of Blue Book of Shanghai: Annual Report on Resources and Environment of Shanghai (2021) was held in SASS. Wang Dezhong (President of SASS), Cheng Peng (Secretary of the Leading Party Group and Director General of Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Ecological Environment) and Wang Limin (President of Social Sciences Academic Press) attended and delivered speeches.
Attendees passionately and profoundly debated over the characteristics and connotation of eco-city in the new era, the refined management of eco-city, openness, synergy and systematicness of eco-city construction, as well as important status and strategic significance of Shanghai's eco-city construction in China.
The research findings of Blue Book of Shanghai: Annual Report on Resources and Environment of Shanghai (2021) were also released at the symposium.
