On the basis of careful analysis on current situations of SASS's foreign exchange and cooperation performance and in-depth survey on the needs of research personnel in the field of foreign exchange and cooperation, SASS Office of International Cooperation launched English Training Class for International Exchange at SASS Headquarters in the early and mid-July 2021. In the charge of Zhu Guohong (Vice President of SASS), this training class was a key project of practice campaign of Office of International Cooperation in the CPC History Study and Education under the theme of Conduct Practical Work for the Public.
This training class imparted English under e-mail communications, daily visits, foreign affairs meetings and other foreign-related communication scenarios, and aimed to improve the oral English, writing and foreign-related communication skills of research personnel. All courses were taught by professional teachers from Training Department of Overseas Students of Shanghai International Studies University, and covered foreign-related exchange scenarios and contents, such as foreign-related meetings (spoken language), daily visits (spoken language) and email communications (writing). Nearly 40 employees from 17 research institutes accepted the training. In echo with feedbacks from the training class site and trainees after class, the training contents and arrangements were positively affirmed by everyone. According to trainees, training courses were very useful for expanding their foreign-related knowledge and enhancing their ability to communicate with foreigners.
