On October 22, 2020, Academic Salon of Domestic and Foreign Media in the 3rd China International Import Expo& Academic Salon of Media for the Fourth Quarter of 2020 were held in SASS. Themed with “Gathering together at CIIE and Sharing New Opportunities for Global Economic Development in Post-pandemic Era”, this Academic Salon focused on the great significances and effects of hosting the 3rd CIIE in “post-pandemic era” and under new development pattern of “Dual Cycles”.
This salon was chaired by Research Professor Tang Yunyi, Director ofPublicity Department, CPC SASS Committee and Director of Office of Dissemination of Scientific Research Achievements. Research Professor Wang Jian, Director of SASS Institute of International Relations, and Research Professor Sun Lixing, Director of International Investment Research Office, SASS Institute of World Economy, shared their insights into “CIIE and China’s Further Opening-up and Driving Force for Globalization Development” and “Establishing New Pattern of ‘Dual Cycles’ and Hosting CIIE in a Satisfactory Manner”, respectively.
Representatives from more than 20 domestic and foreign media, including The Economist, Bloomberg, Reuters, New York Times, Kyodo News Agency, Chunichi Shimbun, Jiji News Agency, Nihon Keizai Shimbun, Hong Kong Commercial Daily and South China Morning Post, also attended and passionately exchanged views with the experts around the theme of this salon.
Academic Salon of Domestic and Foreign Media is an academic publicity platform jointly established by Publicity Office of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and SASS. Every salon focuses on major themes and important issues, and invites experts, officials, entrepreneurs and other guests to deliver speeches, with a view to help Shanghai-based foreign media beef up the understanding of Chinese society. Through expert interpretation and media interaction, this salon actively dispelled doubts of overseas media, echoed with the great attention paid by international community to CIIE, and satisfied the expectations of all parties concerned to understand China’s new opening-up strategy.
